Benefits of a Metal Framed Home
A steel framed home is virtually termite proof, is fire resistant, and can withstand winds up to 180 miles per hour.
Additionally, steel’s strength allows for home designs with larger open spaces, no need for interior load bearing walls, and walls will remain straight and true.
Typical finishing materials can be used both inside and out. Brick, rock, siding, plaster, stucco or drywall are all commonly used. Adding insulation with a radiant barrier is standard, and adding extra insulation is easy with steel framing.
Steel is also good for the environment, with construction leftovers being recycled instead of going to the landfills. Most studs are made from recycled steel, enhancing the current “Green Construction” movement.
